 Vienna

There’s never time on one visit to see all that charming Vienna has to offer. The seat of power during the Hapsburg reign of Europe, the city reflects a regal charm with lots of grand palaces – our favorite is the Summer Palace – lovely gardens, quaint streets, magnificent concert halls – this is the birthplace of the Sound of Music, after all, and grand hotels. The National Theatre is one of the most amazing performing venues in the world and Belvedere Palace – which actually houses two palaces on its grounds – is a sight to behold. The grand architecture offered in Vienna is truly stunning and the best of the lot of the famed Hofburg, which was originally a medieval castle, but today only the castle's chapel is representative of its medieval past. The Hofburg, from where Hitler once churned up hatred from its grand terrace,  was extended in to a magnificent residence as the Habsburg's power increased. Behind the Hofburg you can visit the Treasury Museum, a hidden gem that, despite its compact size, offers one of the most incredible and important collection of artifacts – including Charlemagne’s crown of the Holy Roman Empire – in the world. Vienna is also one of the culinary capitals of Europe and for a real treat may we suggest you sample the schnitzel at the famed Figlmuller restaurant off a main square near where Mozart lived when he resided in Vienna. The Sacher Hotel located behind the national music hall is the bets hotel in Vienna – lots of histry is housed within its walls – and the Sacher Torte they serve in the hotel café may be the best desert in the world – try it, we’re sure you’ll agree!
