Tampa Bay is the Rodney Dangerfield of Florida cities – it doesn’t get much respect or attention. Pity, because this Gulf Coast beauty is one of the best places to visit anywhere in the U.S. Tampa Bay’s beaches are always mentioned among the best in the country and its nightlife and entertainment scenes have few equals. The city’s revitalized Ebor City district, which traces Tampa Bay’s rich Cuban history, is one of the best places in Florida to visit – the Columbia restaurant is a real treat – and the world renowned Busch Gardens is a real tourist draw that doesn’t disappoint. Spring is a great time to visit Tampa Bay because many major league baseball teams, including the famed New York Yankees, hold their training camps in the area - Dunedin, where the Blue Jays workout in the spring is a short drive away. The children’s museum and aquarium are also must visits. The sports scene here is vibrant and all major leagues are well represented. Armani’s on Courtney Campbell Causeway (813-281-9165) is our favorite restaurant in Tampa.
