Manchester is undoutdedly the world capital of soccer - home the the world-renowned Manchester United club, the rishest sports franchise in the world. Getting a chance to see United play at their Old Trafford Stadium home is almost impossible since the stadium is sold out for each game years in advance. But Manchester has lots more to see - its legendary docks area, shopping streets, wonderfully stylish buildings and historic landmarks like the Town Hall and Beetham Tower which casts a long shadow across the city, are all incredible sites that must be seen to be appreciated. Fans of the popular TV series Coronation Street make the pilgrimage here to see the outdoor set where the show is filmed but are disappointed to find it was close to tours a few years ago. The nightlife is very good in Manchester, the gateway to England's beautiful Yorkshire region and one of country's most important economic hubs.
