Welcome to Fredericton

Fredricton

This is one Canadian city which looks like it jumped off a Norman Rockwell canvas. New Brunswick’s provincial capital is small in size – about 50,000 population – but is big in influence. Along with Moncton and Saint John, Fredericton is one of the main urban centres in southern New Brunswick. Fredericton and its surroundings are rich in water resources, which, combined with the land’s arable soil, make the Fredericton region ideal for agriculture. A dominant natural feature for the municipality is that of the St. John River which flows in a west-east direction. The city’s status as an educational centre is quite evident in its two degree granting universities: The University of New Brunswick and St. Thomas University. City attractions include: City Hall, the Justice Building, Soldiers Barracks, the Guard House and the Militia Arms Store. Situated along the banks of the beautiful St. John River, in the heart of the province, the great tourist town of Fredericton is a great place to live, work and play. It’s one of the best walking cities in North America.
